Elder David Okoobo Ovienria was born on the 6 day of April, 1940 in Eguare Irrua, the current Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria to the family of Chief Afiarabhor Ovienria and Mrs. Iduaisili Ovienria nee Eigbe.

David met his wife Christiana nee Oshiobugie at Elele Government Farms. Their love story led to marriage within a year. Together, they raised six children, all of whom became graduates. His family life was as rich and fulfilling as his professional career.
